NDIS information — your NDIS participant number, plan details, funding allocations, and support goals.
Health and disability information — information about your disability, health conditions, medications, and medical history relevant to your support needs. This is sensitive information under the Privacy Act and is handled with the highest level of protection.
Financial information — banking details for invoicing purposes (for self-managed participants), and information needed to process NDIS claims.
Communication records — notes from support sessions, correspondence, and care documentation.
We collect only the information that is necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
How we use your information
Seareal uses your information to:
- Deliver NDIS support services to you
- Coordinate your supports with other service providers (with your knowledge)
- Prepare, submit, and manage NDIS funding claims
- Meet our obligations under the NDIS Act, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework, and other relevant legislation
- Respond to your queries and complaints
- Improve our services and internal processes
We do not use your personal information for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
Who we share your information with
Seareal does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information with:
- Other service providers involved in your support (with your knowledge and consent)
- The NDIA, for the purpose of NDIS plan claims and reporting
- The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, where required by law
- Your support coordinator or plan manager, where you have authorised this
- Emergency services, in the event of a serious threat to health or safety
- Our legal, accounting, or professional advisors (under strict confidentiality)
All third parties who receive your information are required to handle it in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and our confidentiality requirements.
How we store and protect your information
Seareal stores participant information in secure digital systems with access restricted to relevant staff members. Physical records, where used, are stored in locked facilities.
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption, password protection, and access controls. Staff are trained in privacy and confidentiality obligations.
We retain records for as long as required by law and our NDIS obligations. When records are no longer required, they are destroyed securely.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information Seareal holds about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
- Request that we delete your information (subject to our legal obligations to retain records)
- Make a complaint about how we handle your information
